YOUTH COUNCIL APPLICATION
THE EPILEPSY INSTITUTE IS THE NEW YORK AFFILIATE OF THE EPILEPSY FOUNDATION OF AMERICA
- Youth council members must be 18-24 years old
- Youth council provides venues for youth mentorship
- Members serve as ambassadors or public spokespersons for The Epilepsy Foundation’s mission
- Membership should include youth who may or may not have epilepsy
The Epilepsy Institute is New York City’s only comprehensive social service agency that specifically helps people with epilepsy and their families. During the months of April 2008 – August 2008, the Institute is putting together a youth council comprised of 18-24 year olds. Youth Council members will serve as ambassadors to the public as well as spoke-persons for the youth epilepsy community in New York City. Having epilepsy is NOT a requirement in order to be a council member. We are looking for proven leaders, who are looking to help plan and implement a youth program that will help to advocate for people with epilepsy as well as educate the general public. Please be willing to fulfill the following requirements:
- Be able to meet once a month from April 08-August 08
- 18-24 years of age
- Willing to commit to a project from implementation through completion
- Be ready to make a positive impact on youth with epilepsy in New York City
