Education
The
goal of the Education Division is to reduce the stigma and fears associated
with epilepsy so that people with seizures can live fuller lives. Some highlights
of our educational program include:
- developing
and maintaining an Internet site,
- providing
free educational presentations and in-service training,
- distributing
educational materials in English, Spanish, Russian, French, and Chinese.
Dissemination of Information about Epilepsy
Please contact the Education Division to find out more about epilepsy
and the services offered at The Epilepsy Institute.
Community Based Educational Presentations
In 1998, The Epilepsy Institute launched an innovative program that encourages
community based organizations and natural support systems (i.e.; churches,
libraries, schools, ethnic associations, etc.) to become resources for
people with epilepsy. The Epilepsy Institute offers presentations and
seminars free of charge to any group or organization in New York City
interested in learning more about epilepsy.
Corporate Epilepsy First Aid Presentations
The Epilepsy Institute offers a video presentation followed by a discussion
focused on first aid for persons with epilepsy. These presentations are
free of charge to corporations in the New York City area.
Educational Symposium
The Epilepsy Institute periodically sponsors free-of-charge workshops
and symposiums highlighting emerging treatments or other topics of concern.
School
Education Program
The Epilepsy Institute Public Education Division is targeting the New
