Socialization
The Epilepsy Institute offers two programs for those who would like to meet other people with epilepsy while enjoying the cultural and recreational activities that New York has to offer. These programs are called New York Weekends and Travel Day Camp.

New York Weekends
New York Weekends is a socialization program designed to enable young adults with epilepsy to make new friends while taking advantage of the City's cultural and recreational resources. Group trips are organized on a bi-monthly basis.

Travel Day Camp
The Epilepsy Institute offers a one-week Travel Day Camp in the summer for young teens with epilepsy ages 12 to 16. The camp is a great way for children to enjoy the many recreational opportunities in the New York City area while increasing social, travel, and leisure skills. Previous trips have included Yankee Stadium, Great Adventure, Sports World, Sony Wonder Lab, Liberty Science Center, and the Statue of Liberty. Participants must be ambulatory and independent in self-care.
